Shri Vastupal Shah Puja Invitation

MAY 11 INVITATION

Jai Jinendra. Please join us on May 11th at the Jain Temple in Farmington Hills, MI, for a Puja and Swami Vatsalya lunch honoring the memory of our Dad, Vastupal B. Shah.

Snatra Puja will begin at 10:00AM, followed by remembrances from family and friends, and then lunch at the temple.

Dad passed away peacefully on March 29th, at home in Hanover Park, IL. Alongside Mom (Varsha), Dad was an integral member and leader of the Jain Community in the US. He held a number of leadership roles in the Jain Society of Greater Detroit (JSGD), including Temple Pratistha Co-Chair, Executive Committee President, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. His most noteworthy contribution to the Society was as Co-Convener of the 2013 JAINA Convention, which brought over 3,500 attendees from around the world to Detroit. He also led two yatras to India as part of JAINA's Pilgrimage Committee, and co-led over ten Panch Tirth yatras for JSGD. Dad received the JAINA Ratna award in 2017 and JSGD’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.
