LOGO COMPETITION RESULTS
Pranam Society Members,
We are thrilled to share the fantastic response we received for the Jain Society of Greater Detroit’s new logo competition. We received fifteen logos for the competition in a very short period of time. The participation from our members has been overwhelmingly positive and the level of creativity displayed was inspiring. Each and every participant did a fantastic job of crafting a logo that reflects the spirit and identity of our temple. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all participants for their time, creativity, and effort.
All submitted logos were presented to the EC and BOT members anonymously for voting, with no identifying information about the submitters. The team also developed a grading criteria to streamline the logo selection process which ensured a fair and impartial evaluation process, allowing the members to assess each design purely on its merits.
After carefully reviewing all submissions and compiling the grading results from both the EC and BOT members, we are pleased to announce that the winner of the competition is Jayna Shah (daughter of Rahul and Neeyati Shah). Jayna’s design stood out for its meaningful representation and thoughtful execution, and we are excited to adopt it as our new logo.
The voting members from both the BOT and EC were:
- Jignesh Madhani
- Naveen Jain
- Ramesh Shah
- Vinit Shah
- Manish Zaveri
- Nutan Shah
- Sam Shah
- Dipen Shah
- Sameer Mehta
- Samkit Shah
Below are the color and black-and-white versions of the winning logo, along with a detailed description of its design and significance.

Description of the Logo:
The logo of the Jain Society of Greater Detroit (JSGD) embodies the core principles of Jainism: Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truth), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (celibacy), and Aparigraha (non-possessiveness). These values are inscribed within the silhouette of a Bhagwan figure, symbolizing the path to spiritual liberation. The radiant lotus backdrop represents purity and enlightenment, while the physical path represents the path to liberation, a fundamental Jain belief. Together, the design conveys the essence of Jain philosophy and its guiding path toward liberation and self-realization.
Warm regards,
EC and BOT Team
