JAINA RECOGNITION AWARDS

The JAINA Awards Committee is pleased to announce that, as done in past JAINA conventions, individuals living in North America (USA and Canada), who have contributed significantly to the promotion of Jain Religion and its principles, will be recognized during the 2025 JAINA Convention at Chicago, IL. The types of awards and the maximum number of awards for each category are given below:

JAINA Recognition Awards for Youth 10
JAINA Global Awards up to 5
JAINA Committee Excellence Awards 3

The age requirement for Youth Recognition Awards is over 14 years and less than 30 years on July 4, 2025. The minimum age requirement for the Adult Recognition Awards is 30 years on July 4, 2025. The selection will be made based on accomplishment details provided on the attached Nomination Forms. The Awards Committee reserves the right to check the validity of accomplishment claims made.

Awards Committee

The Awards Committee consists of Dr. Kokila Doshi - Chair, Mr. Raju Shah, Mr. Sanjay Gandhi, Mr. Piyush Mehta, and Mr. Yogendra Bobra. As in the past, we have a separate Youth subcommittee who will send their recommendations for Youth Awards to the Awards Committee. The members are Dr. Kokila Doshi - Chair, Simmi Nandu, Kriti Shah, Anish Doshi and Mishi Jain.

Requirements for Application for all Awards

  1. Nominations for JAINA Ratna award, Adult and Youth recognition awards must be received by the JAINA Awards Committee, from Jain Organizations who are members of JAINA. Any local Jain organization member interested in nominating, can submit the fully completed nomination form to the President of the local Jain Organization who will coordinate and verify the content and forward the nomination form to the Awards Committee at JAINA Director(s) of the local organization can coordinate with the President as needed. For JAINA Ratna Award, the nominee may submit the nomination form directly to the Awards Committee.
  2. Jain Organizations can submit more than one nomination but a maximum of three Adult nominees and three Youth nominees will be allowed for award from the same Jain Organization.
  3. A point system will be used for evaluation of nominations based on answers provided on the Nomination Form for various selection criteria questions. The decision of the Awards Committee will be final.
  4. Any category on the Nomination Form left blank will be treated as zero point. Hence, please provide answers to all questions on the Nomination Form.
  5. Any supporting document attached with the Nomination Form should be legible and should be less than 3 pages for Adult and Youth Awards and less than 11 pages for JAINA Ratna Award.
  6. In case multiple nominations are received for the same candidate, the committee reserves the right to choose which one to consider.
  7. JAINA Ratna – while a supporting letter for JAINA Ratna award is not necessary, the committee will consider only up to the first 5 such recommendations.
  8. Photographs of the JAINA award recipients will be published in the Convention Souvenir. Please send electronically a high-resolution passport size photograph of the nominee along with your nomination. Do not forget to clearly identify the full name of the person with the photograph.
  9. Please do not re-nominate previous Awardees who have received JAINA Youth/Adult/Ratna awards in the past in the same category.
  10. Please do not solicit any member of the Awards Committee for any nomination.
  11. Deadline to submit nominations is February 28, 2025
  12. Please make sure that an acceptance email is sent to from the Nominee that he/she agrees to be considered for the respective award for which he/she is nominated
  13. Nominations received after the deadline will not be considered.
  14. The selected candidates will be informed by email by May 15, 2025.
  15. Current President and Chairman of the Board of local Member Association are not eligible for the category of Adult Recognition awards.

  4. Other significant personal achievements and community services not listed above (Do not include accomplishments related to one’s profession or business profession except as Volunteers e.g. a physician volunteering on a medical mission. Do not repeat items covered in previous categories)

Sunitaben and Manishbhai are thrilled to announce that Rishi’s Diksha ceremony will take place on June 8, 2025, at Manas Mandir Tirth in Shahpur, Maharashtra. The full celebrations will span from June 6 to June 8.

Many of you have already had the opportunity to honor Mumukshu Rishibhai or are planning to do so within your Sangh. While the Diksha is still a few months away, now is the ideal time for those traveling from outside India to begin making arrangements.

To assist with planning, we have created a form for attendees. If you have already decided or are considering attending Rishibhai’s Diksha events—even if you are 75% certain—please fill out the form. This will help us estimate attendance and prioritize lodging for those coming from outside India. Additionally, based on demand, we may arrange transportation from Mumbai to Shahpur.
