On Sunday 1st March 2009, examination for the Gyanshala students was held at the JVB Centre in London. In total 14 students sat for these exams in which 2 children were from the Kinder Gyan Group (aged 4 to 5), 7 students were from the 1st Year Gyan, and 5 students were from the 1st year Darshan group.
The examination structure for the Kinder Gyan group consisted of a verbal test which lasted approximately 30 min. For 1st Year Gyan group students, the examination structure consisted of a 45 min written paper and 15 min practical exam. The written paper was based on contents from Jain religion & philosophy and the practical exam included the recitation of sutras and demonstration of specific yoga postures. The examination structure for the 1st year Darshan group students consisted of a 1 hour written examination and also a 15 min practical examination. The oral and practical examination for both 1st year Gyan and Darshan group was conducted by Samniji.
All students received their examination results on the 15th March 2009 and all students passed their exams. The student’s yearly attendance also contributed to their examination marks. All students will now progress to the next level - Kinder Gyan students will progress to 1st year Gyan group, 1st year Gyan group students will progress to 2nd year Gyan group and 1st year Darshan group will progress to 2nd year Darshan group.
