Samanijis’ Visit To Europe
At the invitation of Jain community of Switzerland and Paris, Samanijis have done eleven days trip from 11 June to 22 June 2009.
Zurich
Both Samanijis traveled first to Zurich. Meetings with Jains and non-Jains living in Zurich area was organised on 12th June, 09. For some of the participants, this was the first experience to meet Samanijis and to know basic tenets of Jain religion.
Bern
On 13th Samanijis went to Bern and conducted a session on role of Jainism in promoting Ahmisa, Non Violence and family peace and harmony. This was attended by Jains, Hindus as well as Swiss people.
Geneva
From 14 to 17 June Samanijis stayed in Geneva and benefited the Jain community of Geneva. Lectures like Importance of Pratikraman, How to promote peace and Harmony in family, and Yoga Meditation sessions were held during their stay in Geneva. All the sessions were interactive followed by questions and answers. Samanijis’ visit to Geneva greatly re-activated the current programme of Geneva Jain group including regular Pathshala sessions.
Paris
Samaniji stayed in Paris from 17 to 21 June. On 20 June, they were invited to attend a huge event organised by Muslim community of Europe in defense of Ashraf and Iranian people’s uprising. On 20 June, a programme was organised at Subhash and Vandana Bhandari’s house. On the occasion of H.H. Acharya Maharagya’s 90th birthday, Samani Rohit Pragya spoke about his spiritual personality and introduced his great contribution Science of Living, Preksha Meditation and Peace March to public. Samani Prasanna Pragya gave a talk on ‘Joyful Co-existence’.
Thus during the whole trip Samanijis conducted various workshops and lectures to benefit Adults, youths and children.
