Stages In Journey Of Life

The life is up & down roads with manifolds turns. We can’t say when, where & who meets on which turn of this river like flowing life. Man is called the most intelligent animal and is also a joker dancing in the circus of life. His dancing thread to certain extent is in the hands of some invisible power can be called Karma. It is difficult to say why it is, but it is there. May be because of attachment, thoughts, past deeds or something else reason. When thoughts take the form of storm or cyclone, the mind (physic) like a monkey started hoping here & there and it generally results in the establishment of the empire of attachment.

Due to attachment all powers whether it is physical, mental, emotional or spiritual get hampered. It is said that when the brave Arjun took his bow (called Gandiv), then the throne of Indra (King of Heaven) also started flipping. Maharishi Vyas wrote that such highly brave person also become coward & his Gandiv started slipping from his hand, whole body become warm & shivering, tears started coming from eyes when Mahabharata was going to start.

Arjuna, seeing himself facing grandsire Bhishma and his teacher Drona on Duryodhana's side due to their vow to serve the state of Hastinapur is heartbroken and at the idea of killing them he fails to lift his Gandiva bow. All this is because of attachments.

If there is full determination & continue attempts, then which power is lefts in the world that can become the obstacle for moving feets.

Life is a battlefield. In battlefield, the most important thing is Bravery & capability. Similarly in journey of life, there are many stages before we reach to final aim. The ladders that are moving to plains don’t take us to peak of mountains. It requires the ladders that take to the heights.

Why man is there in world? To live life as it is going or for momentary enjoyment? No. As per me these are the not the purpose of life. The only aim of life is to attain the true existence of soul through journey on right path. What is right path? How can we reach to that destination? Why we are in the world? These are few questions that are continuously striking in the mind of human.

In Agam “Bhagwati Sutra” it is written that the thoughtful action which indulge in doing fast, meditation, following rules, performing daily necessary rituals as pratikraman, vandana etc, is the only real journey.

For this Journey, high courage, extra efforts are required from the routine cycle of birth & death. Human life is the basic foundation to start this journey. If we start journey with the commitment that we will take rest only when we achieve our destination then the success is decided. If in the battlefield of life, life chariot is driven by strong determination as like Shri Krishna then definitely the victory of soul as like Arjuna is confirmed. If by mistake, we made Salya as our chariot driver then we will loose as the Sun’s son Karna losses in Mahabharata. Salya‘s meaning is doubt. Shakespeare had well said “Our doubts backstabbing us & denied from good qualities that we can have with slight exercise.” Hence the way of doubt is more dangerous, more destructive then Death.

We have passed many times from the vicious circle of life & death, in many forms, for thousands- lakhs of years. Now we have to put our eye on the ultimate target of life – salvation with same concentration & devotion as Arjuna had when hitting the eye of bird.

We should be the foundation stone despite waiting for someone that he will come & give us our aim in our hand.

The way to make yourself internally energetic is Tap. It includes fasting, one time eating in a day, eating less then hunger, control over senses & mind etc, etc. Example of the power of Tap is as per Jain View’s Dwarika (City of Krishna) was in existence because of power of tap only after the shaap(Curse) given by saint Devapayan. After 12 years, one day when Dwarika’s people forget to keep fast etc, it results in fire that destroyed whole city. In jindaschurni of Dasvekalik Agam, tap has been defined as – the process which losses, destroys eight types of Karmabondage is Tap. When there is envelop over correct knowledge, sight then attachment starts playing with man to divert him from his right path. They establish their empire & create blackout in man’s life. Tap has a power to insert in that dark empire & spread its light to remove their darkness same as sun do with the night.

Upadhyaya Vinayvijay ji tells, “I bow to that tap that breaks the hardest, toughest & strongest karmabondage vigorously. These kinds of taps can bring the goal nearer”

One of the stages of life Journey is SAYAM (Self Control). There are five main gates to invite Karma particles. These are – Violence, Lie, Possession, thievery & non-celibacy.
The attempt to close these doors is self-control.

The next stage is of self-study, meditation & thoughtful way of working. These are the mirror of life in which man can see & analyse himself very clearly. The regular & wholeheartedly practice of these can pave the way to the permanent shelter called Salvation. These stages bring completeness in life, as it is their natural quality.

You may find many negative agents that will try to create hurdles in your path, will put obstacle in your way. But if we take them in a positive way then it will prove to be fire whose flame refines the gold in its purest form. This negative agent may be even pride that exists within us. It may like thoughts of horse that makes you to play, jump, run, and dance in different phase of life. There may be people who laugh on you, made mimicry or jokes of you but finally they will follow you if you are moving on right path.

In nutshell, it must be our firm determination that the aim with which we have started this tough &hard journey, it should reach the final destination. It is the probably the best journey & the happiness arising from that will be the ultimate one. The man who travel through these stages of journey would have a glorious & calm smile when he would be on the bed of death just as a bud of rose smiles when it is about to open.

One of the famous Indian poets “Jai Shanker Prasad” expresses his view in this form – The aim of this path is not to halt at any rest house in between but to reach that boundary from where no roads are more ahead.
