Day three of Paryushan 2011 was celeberated at South Kolkata Terapanth Bhawan as 'SAMAYIK DIWAS' in pious presence of Sadhvi Kanakshri ji. Thousands of lay followers attended the discourse on Sunday at Terapanth Bhawan. Sadhvi Kanakshri ji preached the lay followers about the importance of samayik in the life of a jain shrawak. She presented interesting numbers and facts to substantiate what has been preached by Lord Mahavira. Citing the example of the Samayik of PUNIYA SHRAWAK which the King Shrenik could not purchase with the wealth of his large kingdom, Sadhvi Kanakshri Ji said Samayik is a Jewel of a Shrawak. Samayik is the practice to attain equanimity, amity and peace in life to strengthen the path to liberation, the ultimate aim of a soul. Most of the Shrawaks and Shrawikas present practiced Samayik. Sadhvisri presented a chorus song. Smt. Vineeta Dugar also presented her well compiled views of the Utility and importance of Samayik.
In the evening hundreds of lay followers attended PRATIKRAMAN.
Thereafter a Quiz Competion amongst the students of Gyanshalas of Greater Kolkata was held. Sadhvi Madhulata Ji co-ordinated the quiz programme. Their were 10 groups of the gyanshalas. 'SFURTI GROUP' from South Howrah Gyanshala stood first, 'SMRITI GROUP' from North Howrah stood second and 'SANSKRITI GROUP' from South Kolkata was adjudged third. All the participants were given prizes. Sri K.S.Nahata (President-Kolkata Sabha), Sri Tulsi Dugar (Chief Trustee- Kolkata Sabha) and other office bearers of Kolkata Sabha gave away the prizes. The programme was compered by Sri Sushil Choraria. Sri Narendra Manot the Secretary of Kolkata Sabha has gone to Dhekiajuli (in the state of Assam) as an Upashak.
