Every year Mahapragya International School invites a teacher to share their expertise in order to aid the school’s development. This affords staff and students with an excellent opportunity to benefit from a fresh perspective and new ideas, allowing us to continue to improve the quality of education that we provide. For the academic year 2012/13, Corinne Smith from London, UK, filled the post of Visiting Teacher.
From the 20th February to 16th March, she became familiar and interacted with our students while teaching them selections from their regular syllabus. Students were also introduced to new teaching methods as practiced in English schools. Our older students benefitted from lessons in exam preparation techniques, teaching them how to organise their time and how to study effectively. Students were also able to take advantage of having a natural speaker of the English language amongst them, allowing them regular conversation practice. Particular effort was concentrated upon improving their English pronunciation through class exercises and smaller group activities.
