About The Venue:

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is recognized worldwide as a leader in the field of engineering education, technology development and research. It was established in 1958. In the year 1961, the Indian Parliament decreed the IITs as ‘Institutes of National Importance' and since then, IITB has grown from strength to strength to emerge as one of the top technical institutes in the world. The institute attracts the best students from across the country for its bachelor, master degrees and doctoral programs. Research and academic programmes at IITB are driven by outstanding faculties, many of whom are highly reputed fortheir research contributions internationally. Members of the faculty of the institute have won many prestigious awards and recognitions.

The alumni have distinguished themselves through their achievements in education and technology and are known for their contributions to industry, academics, research, business, government and social domains.

Located in northern part of Mumbai city facing Powai Lake, IIT is known for the serenity of the campus and its natural beauty. The institute provides excellent amenities for sports and other recreational facilities.

Department of Humanities and Social Sciences headed by Prof D. Parthasarathy of IITB is the collaborating partner of Bhagawan Mahavira International Research Centre of JVBI for organizing the International Conference on Science and Jain Philosophy in January 2016. Prof. P. R. Bhat (Coordinator) and his colleagues, Prof. Ratikanta Panda, Prof Rajakishore Nath, Prof. Ranjan K. Panda and Prof K. Ramasubramanian are the active collaborators from the Department in organizing the conference.
