९५. सोंनारी छूरी चोखी घणी, पिण पेट न मारे कोय I
Howsoever good a golden dagger may be, it is not for piercing the stomach.

९६. केइ रुंख बाग में होय, आंब धतूरा दोय I
     फल नहीं सरिखा ए, करजो पारिखा ए II
There are two trees in the garden-one mango and   the   other   torn   apple (a powerful narcotic). They yield different kinds of fruit. Oh! experiment and verify

९७. आबा सू लिवलाय, सींचे धतूरो आय I
     आसा मन अति घणी ए, अंब लेवा तणी ए II
There is an intense desire to get mangoes, but the man waters the thorn apple and not the mango tree. How can he get mangoes?

९८. पिण आंब गयो कुमलाय, धतूरो रह्यो डहिडाय I
     आय नें जोवें जरें ए, नेणां नीर झरें ए II
The mango tree has withered and the thorn apple tree has bloomed. When the man sees it, he sheds tears and repents for his foolish deed.

The Brave

९९. जे सूर करें पचखांण, ते एक धारा रहे I
     त्यां जीतव जनम सुधारियो II
A brave man lives up to the pledge he takes. His life truly becomes blessed.

१००. काम पडया सेंठा रहें, तके जांणो साचेला सूर I
The truly brave are those who stand firm in their resolution undaunted by adverse situation.

१०१. सुणवा जीव जाए घणा, पिण सरधें ते विरला जांण I
Listeners are innumerable but the faithful are rare.

१०२. समुदर न दीठों कुआरे डेडकें,
                 ते नहीं जांणे कूआ सरिखो ओर I
       ते समुदर रा डेडकां री बात मांने नहीं,
                    समुदर डेडकां सूं मांडी झोर II
The frog in the well has never seen the ocean. It does not regard the ocean as big as the well. He does not concede the contention of the frog in the ocean, 'that the ocean is bigger than the well’. On the contrary it starts quarreling with the latter.

संगति
Company

१०३. दातार री संगत कीयां थकां, ते पिण हुवे दातार I
      कृपण री संगत कीयां, कृपणपणो छें तयार II
By keeping company with a philanthropist, even a miser becomes philanthropic. Likewise, by keeping company with a miser even a philanthropist becomes miserly.

१०४. बांध्यो कालारी पाखती गोरियो, वर्ण नावें पिण लखण आवे I
      ज्यूं विनीत अविनीत कनें रहें, तो उ कांयक कुबद सीखावे II
By keeping the black and the white calves together, the colour of the latter does not change, but it does imbibe some characteristics of the former. Though not externally black; the latter becomes internally black. Similarly, if a modest person lives with an immodest person the latter does succeed in teaching the former some wickedness or another.

१०५. सगला नर सारिषा नहीं, नहीं सारषी नार I
       केई भला नें केइ बूरा, चलीयो जाय संसार II
All men are not alike. All women too are not alike. Some are good, others bad. And like this the world goes on as per its own momentum.

१०६. जका घडी जाए तका, फिर पाछी नहीं आयI
A moment once lost is lost for ever.

१०७. जेसो गोलो गार को, ज्यूं धमे ज्यूं लाल I
A lump of clay turns more and more red as it is heated more and more.

सत्पुरुष
Spiritually Worthy People

१०८. कलीव रांक गरीब नें, वले कायर पुरष कंगाल I
       त्यां पुरुषां नें दोहिली, सतपुरुषां री चाल II
The manners of the worthy people are inaccessible to the impotent, the  beggar, the coward and the indigent.
