Paryushan and Das Lakshan Update
Jai Jinendra.
As you are aware, we are approaching the Paryushan Parva & Das Lakshan Parva.
The Paryushan Parva starts from 03-Sep-21till 10-Sep-21 and Das Lakshan Parva from 11-Sep-21 till 20-Sep-21. Our earlier plan was to fully celebrate the Parva in the Temple but with rising cases of COVID, we are modifying the way we celebrate certain activities in the Temple for safety reasons.
Our Temple open hours and our protocols remain the same. It is on Good Faith basis and we ask you stay safe and keep others safe. Mask is not a mandate currently but is strongly recommended.

Ekashana:
With the rising cases of COVID, the volunteers are not comfortable in doing Ekashana in the Temple. So, please plan accordingly.
Pratikraman, Samuhik Pratikraman:
Members who wish to do the Pratikraman in the Temple can do so. We may not be able to manage social distancing and other safety measures for COVID. So, it is member’s discretion to participate in person or not.
Parna:
We will celebrate Sakal Sangh Parna event in the Temple. However, due to COVID, the Parna event will be limited in the scope due to last minute planning.

Bhavna:
We will be doing Bhavna in the Temple per the schedule above. Bhavna can be sponsored for a fixed Gheeboli of $151 per family. Members who are interested in performing Bhavna will have to be in the Temple as we are not doing virtual Bhavana this year.
Swapna Darshan:
Swapna Darshan will be celebrated in the Temple followed by boxed lunch and it will NOT be virtually live streamed.

Tapasvi Bahuman:

Barsa Sutra:
Sh. Samirbhai Shah will be leading the Barsa Sutra and will NOT be virtually live streamed. There will be a silent Gheeboli.

It will be celebrated in the Temple. Sponsors can plan accordingly.

This is Vandan Shah, graduate of Hindi Class and going to University of Michigan. He finished 7 years of Hindi class from B1-A2, and one of our best students in Hindi Class. This year he tested out of Hindi at University of Michigan. Here is his story.

The Election will be held at the society’s General Body meeting on Sunday Nov 7, 2021 during our annual Diwali program (or with the E-Ballot due to the current Covid-19 situation). The Nomination Form for the open BOT positions is attached here.
Completed Nomination form must be mailed no later than Thursday September 23, 2021. If you desire, then you can email it to .
The eligibility criteria for BOT Nominees and Voting Members as per the Constitutions are:
- To be eligible for the BOT Nominee, the person must have been an eligible Voting Member for at least three (3) consecutive years prior to the election.
- Voting Member must have the paid the membership dues prior to but no later than June 1, 2021.
- The Chair person and Vice-Chair person shall be nominated from the Continuing Board of Trustees, who have the first right of refusal, and are in good standing. In case of refusal by the continuing Board of Trustees for any of these positions, the Nomination Committee shall solicit nomination for these positions from past members of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee Presidents, who are in good standing with their society membership.
