Shri. Mahendrabhai Shah (Guruji's) Memorial service

Guruji's (Sh. Mahendrabhai J Shah) funeral was held on November 16th, 2021, in New Jersey. The funeral was attended in person by Rajiv Shah (BOT Chairman), Manish Jain (EC President), Hemesh and Vinaybhai Shah (Study Class), Sureshbhai, Shreyasbhai and Peenal Shah (Swadhyay), Jaimik Shah (Puja & Bhakti). Few of our JOY alumni from that area (Neal Chokshi, Viral Shah, Sheily Shah, Umang Lathia, Nilesh Dagli, Swati Jain & Sonali Doshi) were also able to join Guruji's memorial service. The family was humbled by JSGD’s presence.
Rajiv Shah (JSGD Perspective) and Sureshbhai Shah (Close Friend Perspective) provided Eulogy to our beloved Guruji. The professional company that was hired to stream the event underestimated the magnitude of the attendees, so a few of you may not have been able to join live. Guruji passed away peacefully surrounded by his family from complications from Pulmonary Fibrosis. The family has set up a page for those that wish to donate to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

નવેમ્બર ૨૦,૨૦૨૧ આદરણીય શ્રાવક વિનયભાઈ,
પંડિત સમીરભાઈના પ્રણામ. આપ સર્વે શાતામાં હશો.
જ્ઞાનવૃદ્ધ, વયોવૃદ્ધ, પીઢ, ગંભીર, સ્વાધ્યાયપ્રેમી, વિનયી, પ્રભુભક્ત, સ્થિતપ્રજ્ઞ, ઉદાર, સર્વેનાહિતેચ્છુ, લાગણીભર, નમ્ર વિગેરે ઘણા ગુણોના ધારક શ્રી મહેન્દ્રભાઈએ આપણા સર્વેની વચ્ચેથી વિદાય લીધી છે તે જાણી ખુબ દુઃખ થાય છે. જોકે દુઃખ કરવાનો પ્રશ્નજ નથી, જેમણે આ ભવમાં ઘણા બધા શુભ કાર્યો કર્યા છે તેમનો પરલોકનિઃ સંદેહ ઉત્તમજ હોય!
મારે વ્યક્તિગત એટલો ઊંડો પરિચય નથી છતાં જેટલા વર્ષો USA આવવાનું થયું છે ,જયારેજયારે મળવાનું થયું છે,ત્યારે ત્યારે મને તેમનામાં ખુબજ નમ્રતા, સરળતા વિગેરે ગુણોના દર્શન થયા છે.
હું માનુ છું ડેટ્રોઇટ સંઘે એક સંસ્કારદાતા પિતા, એક આરાધક વ્યક્તિ, એક સંઘના મોભી, એક જ્ઞાની વ્યક્તિને ગુમાવ્યા છે. ખરેખર, તેમની વિદાયથી હું ઘણો વ્યથિતથયો છું. સાચા અર્થમાં તેઓ ગુરુજી હતા.
ઘણીવાર રાહુલ-નિયતિસાથે વાત કરું, એમને પૃચ્છા કરું કે કેમ છે મહેન્દ્રભાઈને? છેલ્લા સમાચાર હતા કે તેઓ ન્યૂજર્સી સ્થિર થયા છે. શરીર નબળું પડતું જાય છે, ત્યારે મનમાં ઘણું દુઃખ થતું.
જેમ પૂર્વકાળમાં રાજનગરોમાં રાજમાતાઓ હતી તેમ ડેટ્રોઇટ સંઘના રાજપિતા મહેન્દ્રભાઈ હતા. આવા વ્યક્તિથી સંઘ ઉજળો રહે છે. વિચાર આવે કે દરેક સંઘમાં આવા વ્યક્તિ હોય તો કેટલું સારું. ઘણું લખવું છે પણ શબ્દોની મર્યાદા છે.
અંતે, કેટલાક સૂચનો ટ્રસ્ટી, પ્રમુખ વિગેરેને આપવા વિનંતી.
૧) તેમનો ફોટો શ્રી સંઘમાં મુકાય.
૨) તેમના નિમિતે, ત્રણ દિવસનો મહોત્સવ થાય. તેમના ગુણાનુવાદયો જાય.
શ્રી સંઘને વિનંતી છે.
આ ક્ષણે હું મહેશભાઈ વોરાને પણ ભૂલી શકુંતે મનથી. સર્વેને યાદી.

JSGD Mask Mandate
Jai Jinendra,
Recently, there has been surge in COVID cases in Michigan. While most of our members are vaccinated, we still should be cautious and careful as some of us may still not be. We not only should stay safe but also keep everyone safe. So, we are revising our mask policy in the Temple.
Effective immediately, Mask is required while in the Temple, until further notice.
In case you observe anyone not wearing the mask, please gently remind the person.
Please cover your mouth and nose with cloth face cover/ mask while inside the Temple at all times. If you are running fever or have any COVID symptoms, please refrain from visiting the Temple until the recovery.
