Message from JAINA

Dear Members,
It gives us a great pleasure to inform you that Shrut Ratnakar Trust (India) lead by Dr. Jitendra Shah, in collaboration with JAINA organization and Jain Center of Southern California (JCSC) is presenting a drama:
“Surishvar ane Samrat” Victory of Ahimsa over Cruelty in “Gujarati”.

Here is a preview: https://youtu.be/shFnRBuJ4WY
Be the first ones to witness the glorious history of how Acharya Shri Heer Vijay Surishvarji transforms a cruel king Samrat Akbar into a compassionate human being, who stops killing innocent animals, gives up eating meat, and provides protection for many Tirths.
We bow down to such a powerful Guru and his compassion towards all living beings. This true story is very well played in this drama. It highlights the effects of Jain teachings on Jains as well as non-Jains. Let us all watch this amazing transformation of Samrat Akbar. Be sure to inform all your friends & family.

The main purpose of this event is to promote the development of Shrut Ratnakar’s Adhyayan Kendra just 5 kms from Shankheshwar. The main objective of this Adhyayan Kendra is to provide various Jainism courses, high-level research, and tools for knowledge to bring Lord Mahaveer’s diction "पढमं नाणं तओ दया" – “First Knowledge and Then Mercy” to life.
Shrut Ratnakar Trust:

  • For the past 22 years, Shrut Ratnakar Trust has been operating under the leadership of Dr. Jitendra B. Shah.
  • Its main goal is to propagate Jain Dharma through seminars & on-line courses on subjects like Tatvarth Sutra, Samyag Darshan, Upmiti Bhava Prapancha, Prashamrati Prakaran, Kayotsarg Dhyan etc.
  • Currently, there are about 18,000 Sadhu-Sadhvijis and they are increasing each year.
  • Demand for courses related to Jainism is increasing rapidly in Universities.
  • Enthusiasts in India as well as abroad have a niche curiosity for knowing about Jainism.
  • Shrut Ratnakar realizes these needs and is committed to fulfill it through its innovative “Adhyayan Kendra”.
Adhyayan Kendra:
  • It is a first of its kind campus dedicated to advancing knowledge of Jain Dharma.
  • It is being constructed on a 2.5 Acres of land at Panchasar – mere 5 km from Sankheswara Tirth.
  • It will provide:
    • The studies of Sanskrit, Prakrit, and English languages.
    • Teaching of Scriptures and Doctrines to our Sadhu/Sadhvis and Shravak Shravikas.
    • A library with more than 40,000 books.
    • Study rooms, a conference hall, Upashrayas for Sadhus and Sadhvis, a Temple, a medical clinic, and other amenities for those who come to learn.
    • Seminars and Online Courses for participants from all over the world.
  • Permits, Site development, and obtaining utilities like electricity & water have been completed.
  • Sadhu-Sadhviji’s Upashraya will be completed by mid-2023.
  • Rest of the construction is estimated to be complete by October, 2024.
  • Our aim is to make this Adhyayan Kendra a Jain University at some point.
