International Summer School for Jain Studies
Organized in JVBI, Ladnun, India

To
Dr. Sulekh Chandra Jain
Program Director of ISSJS, Abroad

Sir!

The whole institute and I myself are pleased and indebted to you that you have offered a good chance for inter-cultural dialogue and to promote Jainism at larger level. It is really the demand of the time. Forgetting all the differences of our opinion we have to be united in the name of Jain philosophy and religion or rather to say in the name of Lord Mahavir. If we could continue such programs every year it would help many more foreign scholars to know Jainism very closely and thereby to promote Jainism throughout the world The students sent by the international academic council were really very sincere, serious and devoted to the learning given. During 10 days program of Ladnun the institution has tried its best to provide a good learning and arrangement as per your suggestion and expectation. The entire program run here very hopefully, smoothly and in a well-planned manner.

In these 10-11 days we have tried to encompass almost all the important doctrines of Jainism. Every day three Lectures were organized along with two meditation and yoga classes. 11 scholars from different parts of India and the institution were invited for the academic and other classes. More than 1 lakh rupees were invested to organize the entire program successfully.

So far as my suggestions are concerned about the entire program, is that instead of organizing specially academic program at different places you have to organize it at one place so that we can avoid the fatigue, tiredness and frustration of the coming scholars and can provide very systemic, effective and comprehensive learning of Jainism. The place can be JVBI. We can invite all the scholars whether they belong to Delhi, Jaipur and Indore etc. It will give good message to the people coming. The Institution has good infrastructure, atmosphere and man-power too for learning Jainism. The international and national organizing committee has to think of the rest of the arrangement only.

Thanking again
With regards

Samani Dr. Chaitanya Pragya
Co-ordinator, JVBU, Ladnun, India
