Kolkata Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, youth organisation of the Jain svetamber terapanth sect, happily looks back on twenty years of activities. On 11th December 2004 their 20th annual general meeting was held in the Mahasbha Bhawan Kolkata.
Mr. Prakash Birmecha was confirmed in his function for the next season and re-elected president of the Terapanth Yuvak Parishad Kolkata. Mr. Birmecha is originally from Taranagar, Rajasthan. Since 18 years he is working with and for young people, he has cooperated with seven presidents out of eight. During Maryada Mahotsav 2000 in Taranagar he was the secretary of the organizing committee. He said that with the grace of Gurudev he will hopefully be able to accomplish his duty according to the responsibility he has taken by accepting the election and thanked the members for deposing faith in him.
Member of the election commission was Mr. Pannalal Pugalia, the former president of the Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, the national forum of the terapanthi youth organisations. Mr. Ratan Dugar, its organising secretary, participated in the meeting as well as Mr. Tulsi Dugar and Mr. Jaskaran Golchha from the national executive. Mr. Ramesh Jain, secretary of the organisation, reported on the progress of last year's activities. Mr. Sushil Choraria, treasurer, presented audited accounts for the year ending on 31st march 2004.
