Raipur 15.08.2008
First time in the history of Raipur city, Muni Prashant Kumar ji addressed the members of Jain community on the eve of India’s Independence Day, the 15th August 2008 at Mahveer Stoop square. Defining nationalism and national interest, Munishri said that in speech everyone talks about nationalism and patriotism but in actual behaviour communal, provincial and linguistic differences are clearly reflected; and that is the root cause of corruption and hatefulness. Emphasizing the need for strong character building, Munishri said that as on day there is strong need for improving our behavior and developing the feelings of nationalism in true sense.
The function was organized by Mahaveer Jayanti Utsav Samiti and was talk of the town for the reason that this was the first occasion when a saint has addressed in the national programme instead of a political leader. Shri Vinod Chopra, the Secretary of the society thanked the Jain community and requested them to spread the message of Munishri at all levels.
