An Introduction To Jainism: [28] The Authenticity of Scripture

Tīrthaṅkaras are 'Kevalī' (omniscient). According to Jain philosophy, only the articulation of 'Kevalī' is 'Pramāṇa' or valid cognition. Many Indian philosophers believe that only God is 'omniscient', human beings cannot be omniscient. But, the Jain philosophy asserts that it is a human being who can be omniscient and none else.

An authentic human being himself holds a prime place in Jainism while the authenticity of scriptures holds a secondary position, the latter being confined to the limitation of articulation.
