Sanskrit: measure
Valid cognition; by which the entity is cognised fully,
that is, as free from perversion and the like; it is the valid organ of knowledge which reveals itself and others and is free from contradiction. In Jain Logic, pramāṇa, naya, nikṣepa etc. are considered as the means through which the truth or the reals can be understood.
