Published: 22.09.2010

A letter received from Lady H. Mary Spens wife of Horible Sir Patrick Spens, C.B.E., Chief Justice of India.

My dear Mr. Chopra,

I write to thank you for extending to me the great kindness, hospitality and generosity, which I received from you, as well as from the whole of the Terapanthi Sabha of which you are the president.

Both Miss Shephard and I came away with feelings of great and deep respect and appreciation of the Sabha, as well as of gratitude for the great courtesy and kindliness, which was accorded to us during out visit to Sardarshahr.

We shall both remember this visit with the greatest pleasure. We were deeply impressed with the spirit of goodwill and peace, which exists at Sardarshahr. It is indeed a happy community and its influence must be penetrated wherever the Sadhus and Sadhwis go. They are doing a service of value, which is altogether beyond calculation.

We greatly admired the lovely handwork of both Sadhus and Sadhwis as well as the excellence and scope of their scholarship.

His Holiness is indeed a great leader and worthy of the glad and loyal devotion, which he receives from the whole Sabha. Please tell him how greatly we appreciated the fact that he received us and spared us so much of his precious time.

I want to thank you too for coming with us all the way to Ratangarh on our departure, as well as for the great kindness m bringing and erecting tents for our breakfasts when we arrived.

19, Akbar Road New Delhi, 6-2-46

Yours sincerely,
Sd/- H.Mary Spens
