On Sunday 10 July 2011, approximately 20 children gathered for a children’s workshop conducted by Samani Prasanna Pragya ji and Samani Vikas Pragya ji, and assisted by Pooja Jain, Saggar Malde and Natasha Shah.
Many of the children were students of JVB Gyanshala although it was great to see a few new faces as well. After recitation of Namaskar Mantra by Samaniji, Pooja welcomed everybody and explained the program for the day, and all present introduced themselves to each other.
Samani Vikas Pragyaji and Natasha then led the children through the JVB prayer, yoga and a guided meditation. Feedback from the children revealed they found the yoga challenging but also entertaining as they tested their flexibility.
The children then separated into 2 groups. Samani Vikas Pragyaji and Natasha led the younger children; they played games and shared a story about the importance of being honest.
Samani Prasanna Pragyaji told the older children a story about anger, and explained the benefits of not getting angry as well as simple and practical methods to control one’s temper. Samaniji, Pooja and Saggar then conducted a quiz game on Jainism and general knowledge, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
The session was wrapped up with details of the Paryushana activities which will be organized for the children, thanks, mangalpath and photos; this was followed by some snacks. All the children had a fun and interesting morning and look forward to more such activities during Paryushana.
Credit goes to all parents who inspired and brought their children even at early on Sunday.
