Digambara Jain Temple at Chulgiri
Chulgiri Jain Temple is situated on the Aravali hills near Jaipur. Jain Acharya Shri Desh Bhoosan ji Maharaj selected the hill area on Jaipur-Agra road for his penance in year 1953. After a few months, he decided to build a Jain temple on this place. Acharya Shri Desh Bhoosan ji Maharaj gave the name "Chulgiri" to those hills.
In April 1966, statues of Bhagwan Parshvanatha, Bhagwan Mahavira and Bhagwan Neminatha, made of white stone, were installed in the temple along with Chaubisi (depiction of 24 Tirthankaras) and Jain Yantras. To perform Parikrama around the idol of Bhagwan Parshvanatha, statues of 24 Tirthankaras and four depictions of the holy feet of Bhagwan were founded. To catch rain water for worship and ablution of the deities a small water tank has been installed at the temple.
In May 1982, a Panch Kalyanak festival was organized to consecrate another statue of Bhagwan Mahavira, which is covered by a dome. Further images of Tirthankaras, Yantras and other holy symbols has been installed during the following years. In a separate room images of mother goddess Jwalamalini and yakshi Chakreshvari has been positioned. In a gallery made of white marble statues of Bahubali and Bharata are preserved.
