History of Shri Nadlai Teerth: According to history Shri Nadlai Teerth dates back to the ancient times. Earlier the teerth kshetra was named as Naradpuri or Nadulai. As per reference the city was established by Narad Muni. It was once a very rich and prosperous city and was resided by many people. The ruins of temples and idols scattered here prove the antiquity of the place. The temple was built by King King Pradyumna, the son of Lord Krishna. He had also installed the beautiful idol of Shri Neminath Bhagvan on a hill. This hill is known as Yadav Tekri. Apart from this there is another hill known as Shatrunjaygiri. It is located opposite of Yadav Tekri hill. A magnificent huge temple of Bhagwan Rishabh Dev has been constructed on that hill.
The idol of Lord Neminath is believed to possess miraculous powers. Thousands of Jains and non Jains from far off places visit the temple to offer their prayers. It is believed that if prayed with all devotion the Lord fulfils the wishes of the pilgrims.
Temple of Shri Nadlai Teerth: The temple of Shri Nadlai Teerth houses the idol of Lord Neminath. The Swetambara temple has been magnificently decorated with intricate artistic designs. The creative temple work boast about the skills of the craftsmen. The walls and pillars of the temple are adorned with specimens of ancient art and paintings. The idol of the Lord is black in colour. It is seated in a padmasana posture. The idol has been beautifully carved from a single stone and looks very appealing. The smiling face of the Lord looks very calm and serene. Apart from this Shri Yashosuriswarji and Kesavsuriji were two learned sages here who went to heavenly abode from this place. Two superb stupas have been built in their memory that can be seen here.
