The Quest For Truth: [01.18] Bhagvan Mahavira: Life And Philosophy - Valuable Principle: 5. Religious Order (Dharam Sangh)

Published: 04.02.2007

For good organization of the Sangha Mahavira laid down some rules:

  1. The one who does not believe in equal sharing does not attain salvation - so share equally.
Do not wield authority over another's share.
  2. Be ever ready to give shelter to those who do not have shelter.
  3. Be ever ready to teach new incumbents.
  4. Be ever ready to serve the ailing.
  5. When there is disagreement or conflict try resolving it without taking sides.

These rules are not of any less value for social organizations.
