There remains a constant distance between knowledge and conduct.
We know many truths but are not able to apply them in our personal conduct. Knowledge does not directly relate to conduct. That which connects them is faith. It develops an attraction towards the known truth. When the attraction becomes strong then knowledge automatically turns into faith.
We think faith is to be towards that which we do not know.
Mahavira said just the opposite.
Once you know something you should be dedicated to that knowledge.
Faith does not foster ignorance.
It takes knowledge towards good conduct.
Knowledge is rare, faith is even rarer and good conduct is the rarest of all. When knowledge matures, faith comes easily and when faith comes easily so does good conduct.
