Literature is nourishment for mind. For the enlightened people, it is salutary to their mental health. But, it is rare to find readable literature of a high standard these days. Under these circumstances, it is the responsibility of sages and saints of India to place before the public the essence of their experiences. The manner of their presentation should be such that the public should not stop at merely enjoying it, but should assimilate it and get nourishment through it.
In my opinion, Lamp to Light Lamps is a piece of literary work based on the collection of my essays. The Chief Nun Kanak Prabhaji had edited it in Hindi with deep concentration of mind. The Hindi readers have read it with interest. It has given to the readers a sense of satisfaction. This is evident from the reactions of the enlightened readers.
The Chairman of the Adarsh Sahitya Sangh Ranjeet Malji Bhandari has shown his innate understanding by getting this book translated into English. This would enable the English readers as well, to accrue the same benefit The English translation was sent to me and I asked my disciple Muni Mahendra Kumar to review it. He readme translation very eagerly and said, "It is an excellent translation and makes interesting reading. I could not find any major error even after going through it very carefully."
Saralaji, the translator, should feel happy that her work has been approved at this end. I wish to convey to her my good wishes that she successfully continues to give her translating capacity a creative direction in this manner. It is expected from Bhandariji as well that he continues to promote translation of useful literary works. If the target to publish three to four books every year is achieved, we would attain substantial resources in English in a few years' time.
