Whatever the man tries, he does for the sake of obtaining happiness and relieving sadness. Happiness is the innate characteristic of the soul. It exists in the inner self of every human being.When the mind is full of external thoughts, then there is no space available to experience the joy hidden within. When the mind keeps on chasing material pleasures then it cannot touch the hidden internal bliss.
To experience it, it is necessary that the mind becomes empty. Emptiness of mind enhances the realization of existence. Becoming empty means, the elimination of the ego.
When the mind is free from the external thoughts, then that emptiness gets filled with the experience of self consciousness.
