First chapter is called 'Papa pratighat with guna bijadhan' (cessation of sinful activities along with repositingseeds of virtues.) This sutra dewscribes the successive self-desciplineand arduous effoerts needed for 'nirjara. of karmas and how this soul can be transformed as 'Parmatma' and attain self-realization. It describes three means by which 'Tathabhavyatva' (an eternal inherent disposition of soul which makes it worthy of 'Moksa') can be realized.
