On 5th May 2007, Jeevan Vigyan Academy Kolkata hosted a workshop for more than 100 teachers from different schools in Howrah and Kolkata at Terapanth Bhavan, south Kolkata in presence of Sadhvishree Nirvanshreeji. In the beginning, women’s wing (Mahila Mandal) presented Anuvrat song.
Sadhvishree Nirvanshreeji opened the workshop with the motto: Jeevan Vigyan is the base for a healthy society. She pointed out that Jeevan Vigyan opens a new direction of development, as it aims to establish three columns of values inside the students:
- Moral values
- Emotional values
- Human values
Moral values result in personal integrity and honesty, emotional values in awakening consciousness of peaceful co-existence and equality, and human values in development of human unity. Therefore, mental balance, concentration, will power, and balanced mind are needed. These can be realised by applying the technique of Preksha Meditation.
Sadhvishree Dr. Yogkshem Prabhaji explained to the teachers what Jeevan Vigyan is, why it is advisable, and how to apply it in the education system. According to her, it is a unique form for personality development and a balanced system of education, as it lays emphasis on all aspects of physical, mental, intellectual, and emotional development. She further gave lecture on all points of development in a PowerPoint presentation, which was liked by the teachers as they followed it very smoothly. She also discussed how we can control anger and pride, how to ease tension, and to make our memory strong. She guided the teachers in an experiment of Mahaprana Divani and perception of Centre of Intuition (Jyoti Kendra Preksha) between the eyebrows. Sadhvishree also answered to the queries of the teachers.
