Superstition

Fruitless endeavours should not be undertaken. Any activity should only be performed if it is useful, and worthy. Any sensible person would rightly agree and also follow it.

Bhikhanaji, after his marriage, went to visit his in-laws. He sat down to eat with some other people. The food was placed before them. Before the son-in-law could start his meal, the ladies of the house started singing songs that do abuses full of abuses, to poke fun at the son-in-law. This was a tradition in some part of India during the past.

Bhikhanaji stood up without touching his food.He very loudly and in a steadfast voice told everyone. He could not partake food where people could not differentiate from black to white and white to black.

Man should weigh the consequences of his action, in this case, or of words. Always serve food with a good and clean heart and let people partake food in peace. Some old traditions could be baseless hence not good and necessary. On the other hand some new concepts may be more congenial.

It is rightly said - All old is not good and gold, and all new is not bad and bold. An intelligent person will always think twice before saying or doing something. A fool will always be hasty and rash; they will just act without thinking.
