ANUVRAT CHETNA DIWAS

The fifth day of the Paryushana Parva was celebrated as “Anuvrat Chetna Diwas” i.e. the day dedicated for developing moral values. On the eve of “Anuvrat Chetna Diwas” Samani Bhavit Pragya ji said that the greatest need for human being is forsake selfishness and develop moral values in the life. For that consciousness of man must be transformed, otherwise problems will be multiplying. There is fear of violence and terror everywhere. Human values like morality, honesty, restrains, righteous conduct are disappearing. Man is entangled in his own problems to such an extent that he has no time left to think about any one else. Today society is faithless samaj. A sick society can not do any thing for the betterment of the society. If we want to make the society healthier than we have to limit our desire. The samaj which values humane unity is a healthy society. In sick society peoples are fighting each other. There is no communism violence in the healthy society.

Ganadhipati Tulsi launched Anuvrat Movement in March 1949 at Sardarsahar. Anuvrat came in the form of a moral movement and character building. The term Anuvrat is a combination of two words viz. Anu means small and vrat means a vow. A code of conduct embodying small vows came to be called Anuvrat. Anuvrat is not restricted to any cast, community, country or language. It is a human code of conduct. It implies style of living life as human being. It is a state of consciousness in which violence and cruelty cannot exist. The individual who develops such consciousness does not kill any innocent living creature. He lives free from thoughts of customs, communalism and discrimination. Hence Anuvrat brings man nearer to moral values. The Anuvrat can be applied to prepare ground to change distortions.

If the anuvrat is followed than violence can be checked. Anuvrat gave slogan “Man is first a man than he is Hindu or Muslim”. Today a person is becoming dishonest and cruel due to greed. If character is lost, everything is lost. Anuvrat makes the person honest. The anuvrat is a small lamp to fight against the thickening, darkness of mistrust, instability and a faithlessness. It is put to proper use for freeing people from violence, corruption crime etc.

The individual is the component of society. The social structure, national consciousness is afflicted by an individual habits. Individual is the smallest unit of the entire world. If the individual is healthy it leads to greater social health. The health of the nation is influenced by the healthy social order. If all the nations of the world are healthy it would be possible to create a healthy world. Anuvrat is the ray of hope of reform man, society, nation as well as world. It is a model which provides an atmosphere to live a happy peaceful and balanced life.

In the evening a competition has been organized on the subject Whether terrorism can be solved through non violence - Yes or Not.
