Paryushan - Dhyan Diwas

DHYAN DIWAS

The Seventh day of the Paryushana Parva was celebrated as “Dhyan Diwas” i.e. the day dedicated for purification of emotions developing concentration. On the eve of “Dhyan Diwas” Samani Bhavit Pragya ji on 23rd August, 2009 at Amolak Bhawan, Raipur said that Preksha Dhyan is the technique of seeing oneself. Preksha means to perceive carefully and profoundly. The term Dhyan is mostly defined as concentration of thinking on a particular subject for a length of time. Preksha Dhyan means concentration of perception of thought, specific center and breathing. The entire system of Preksha meditation can be classified in to three levels:-

  • Relaxation, perception of breathing, perception of awareness of alternate nostril breathing.
  • Perception of body, psychic centers and psychic colour
  • Auto suggestion and contemplation

Preksha meditation is the system to be free from misery and sorrow which enables the individual to achieve complete harmonious evolution of the physical, mental and spiritual planes. Through the practice of meditation, a person increases physical energy, releases tension, improves health and self-defence and achieves the ability to heal on the physical, mental and emotional level. With the help of this technique he becomes able to lead each moment peacefully, productively and happily.

In dhyan we purified our emotions, memory and thought. There is one controlling power of human life- emotion. If emotion gets purified, our thoughts become positive. The result of purification of emotions are right attitude, success, halo and simple contentment. Through preksha meditation one can purifies his feelings. Your mind is the best transmitter of your thoughts and faith, which ensures your success. When you purify your thoughts then your mind transmits these is your body to make all the activities successful for you. It encourages your body to move in positive direction. By giving training to the mind it can be vastly developed. Our immense powers can be awakened and made active in this way. Acharya Shri Mahapragya has given direction regarding a process of experiment of faith and feelings. It is like this-
In the state of relaxation, concentrate your mind on this sentence for ten minutes-“I have immense powers in me.”

During the next ten minutes feel that your powers have arisen and have become active. During the third ten minutes- make this promise with concentration-“I can use my powers. I can solve my problems.”

In the third stage the above mentioned experiment would occur. With this your resolving power would increase. New faith would be build up. Quick results would come about. The tasks that takes ten hours would get completed in half an hour.
