Sadhvishri Kanakshriji advised that living one’s life based on the principles and Philosophy of Jain Religion is the best way to counter global warming. With citations from the life of Ganadhipati Shri Tulsi, she gave stress on simple living and high thinking. Sadhvishriji affirmed her faith on the youths of Terapanth Sect and called for their greater role in tackling the menace of Global Warming. She said Lord Mahavira, the 24th of the Jain Tirthankar was a great environmentalist. He had preached more than 2500 years ago to follow the principles of truth, non- violence, non-stealing, celibacy and non-attachment, which provide total solutions to the modern environmental imbalances. The Professionals from the Jain community must strictly follow the principles and apply them in their professional life too thereby contributing a great deal in solving the global problem

Shri Prakash Chand Maloo, president of the Kolkata branch, in his power point presentation on the subject, detailed about the concept of the Global Warming. With factual data from around the globe, he presented the dreadful picture of Global Warming and its causes. He asserted that the uncontrolled and irregular pattern of consumption has lead to excessive production, which in turn has increased global warming.
