Acharya Mahashramana the supreme leader of Jain Shwetambar Terapanth Dharm Sangh today entered Delhi as a part his visit to Delhi for Chaturmas 2014.
Chaturmas is a sacred 4 month long period observed by entire jain community world over. Chaturmas is reserved the year for penance, austerities, fasting, bathing in holy rivers and religious observances for all. Devotees resolve to observe some form of vow, be it of silence or abstaining from a favourite food item, or having only a single meal in a day
On his arrival in the capital he was given a gala welcome in the form of a grand procession in Nangloi. The Member parliament Parvesh Verma was also there early morning to welcome Acharya ji at Delhi boarder.
2013-14 is also the 100th centenary year of Acharya Tulsi ji the founder of Anuvrata Movement. The yearlong celebrations, started last year from Terapnath Capital Ladnun (Rajsthan) will be concluded in Delhi.
Before heading to Sadhna Kendra Mehrouli for his 4 months long Chaturmas stay, he will travel all over Delhi till 2nd July spreading a message of peace and harmony.
A huge public welcome ceremony in the honor of Acharya is being also organized at Talkatora Stadium on 8th June which will be attended by who s who of business, social and political circles, besides, thousands of disciples of Acharya ji from India and overseas.
