It may seem incredible, but thousands of years before the Western world came out with the quantum theory, ancient Indians had an inkling of the existence of atoms as the building blocks of matter.
References to atoms or minute particles as the smallest units of matter or substances appear in Jainism, which regards matter as an aggregate of atoms and as the source of bondage and the cause of all karma. The original nature of Jiva is a pristine state, a mass of pure consciousness, devoid of any coarseness or grossness.
In the year 2017, Jivdaya Committee was able to distribute $67000 (Rs. 43 lakh) to 37 panjarapoles in India providing fodder, built two animal shelters in Thera and Unn in North Gujarat, and provided an ambulance for the animal in Bhavnagar.
Higher summer temperatures with lower production of grass compared to the last year, has doubled the price of the fodder. Jivdaya Committee is receiving the increased number of appeals for help. Surprisingly bigger panjarapoles having more than 2000+ animals. Kutch area, Saurashtra and central Gujarat panjarapoles are requesting immediate help. Jivdaya committee would like to raise $30000.
Please send your generous donations to JAINA Jivdaya at 5308 E. 80th Place, Tulsa OK 74136 or donate online on Jaina.org with Jivdaya as a memo. Jivdaya Committee appreciates your timely help for the noble cause of Jivdaya.
