At the dawn of the New Year 2008, JVB Preksha Meditation Center, Houston is going to present a play ‘Mahasati Anjana ’. In Indian culture God Hanuman is worshiped at large for his devotion, celibacy and bravery. But only a few people know about the source of all these qualities. This source was his mother, Anjana. In spite of being a princess, how did she struggle her life and bear hardships to bring Hanuman? How and where did Hanuman come into this world? The play includes emotions, tragedy, suspense, comedy. It also shows how one sentence can bring negativity and how one scene can change the life all the way; how doubt can split the relationship and how spirituality can bring happiness. This play also reflects upon karmic theory, that none can escape from karma. We find various color of life in one story. There are almost 20-25 characters in this play like 2 Kings, 2 Queens, Pawan, Prahasit, Anjana, Basanta, Muni a, ChildHanuman, Comedy characters in between. No doubt, it is an interesting play including dance. The first play presented by JVB was Chandanbala in 2001. The play was so successful that it is still remembered by the audiences even today! Don’t miss this golden opportunity! |
