Swami Dharmanand Ji left for Heavenly Abode
on 24.01.2016, Delhi

Swami Dharmananda ji practiced and instructed yoga during the whole time of his professional life. Furthermore he was a devoted follower of Lord Mahavira’s teachings and the Acharyas of Terapanth Sangh. Very soon in his professional life 9th Terapanth Acharya Tulsi asked him to work exclusively on the field of spirituality. When he was the head of Tulsi Adhyatma Nidam Ladnun he planted more than 600 trees on the campus of Jain Vishva Bharati Ladnun. He was the founding director of Adhyatma Sadhana Kendra in Delhi, where he not only instructed meditation and yoga, but took also care of the greenery. He was present when the first Preksha Meditation Camp took place and his reports thereon where detailed and full of enthusiasm. Always he was close to the spiritual heads of Terapanth. In his lifetime he saw three of them, 9th Acharya Tulsi, 10th Acharya Mahapragya, 11th Acharya Mahashraman continually working for spiritual upliftment not only of the Sangh, but of society as a whole.

For us, a very close friend has taken his last breath yesterday who visited us 2006 and 2007 in our Berlin home. He introduced us 15 years ago to Acharya Mahapragya and the Sangh and was our first instructor of Preksha Meditation. "Yes - Please Come" were Swami Dharmanandji's words in 2000 when Karunaji phoned him to come to India. He was the door to our spiritual life, introduced us to HH Acharya Mahapragya and Terapanth Sangh and was our permanent friend and helper to make us understand what we were looking for in meditation. His talent in organising our tours and supporting HereNow4U magazine by getting & exporting all the books in our bookshop was admirable. He was always with us and present. So it will be in the future. He was like an open door to spiritual India for us. He purchased train tickets to destinations where the Acharya and the nuns and monks were staying, very often to remote areas. Unforgotten are the many experiences he shared with us, when he spoke about “his” Acharyas and how they influenced the thoughts, words and actions of people they met.

For HereNow4U he provided until present the books to publish and in the beginning the permission to do so. He was a reliable friend and cooperator.

His open mind and heart gave a warm welcome to many newcomers to spiritual India. Staying in the Kendra always promised encounters with very interesting people from all over the world. Swami Dharmanand ji was amicable with everyone he met. His open heart and mind made the Adhyatma Sadhna Kendra in Delhi a very special location.

We will miss and never forget him, remembering all the wonderful experiences we shared. May his soul rest in bliss, peace and happiness.
