2012 Karuna's Mewar Tour
Children’s Peace Palace is situated on a hill overlooking the small town of Rajsamand. It is easy to find, everybody in Rajsamand knows it. We were welcomed by 3 nice people. They explained the learning concept of Children’s Peace Palace to us. All things presented in Children’s Palace are meant to activate the child’s interest. Whenever this happens, the child starts queries and wants to explore the subject. Without much interference from outside it can start research and get deeper into the subject. There are no directives to do so; all motivation comes from inside the child itself. Grown-ups are there to support the child’s research. Therefore manifold subjects of research have been gathered in the building, activating an inherent attitude of children called curiosity and eagerness to learn. Especially this attitude contributes considerably to the generation of a child’s identity, later on of a human’s identity.
