2012 Karuna's Mewar Tour

This morning I wanted to attend Gurudev’s morning Pravachan at 10:00am. Before the lecture I wanted to go to Muni Kishan Lal ji for meditation. He was busy with other people, but told me that he would leave the location at 16:00pm. I promised to be there. He had got the permission to go by car to Ahmedabad for an urgent knee operation. So I was looking forward to the afternoon. As there was some time left until Pravachan, I took pictures of Saints.

Many people had gathered for the morning lecture, about 2000 ladies and gents from all over India. Still it was a numerous audience. Some had extended their Maryada Mahotsav stay for two days to hear the daily Pravachan life. Further it was another opportunity for Guru Darshan. Sadhvi Vishrut Vibha once remarked that around Maryada Mahotsav is for the saints the busiest time of the year.

Mainly for HH Acharya Mahashraman. I wonder if there was a single moment except for the meals that he was not surrounded by a huge crowd. Whenever I saw him, there were many people waiting for the opportunity to talk to him or just were telling him about their concern. I conclude that they were talking of problems because of their body language and the expressions in their and HH’ face. HH listened to them with full mental presence. I never saw him commenting on the subject brought forward to him, only asking for more details. But even the way he had listened brought about a change in their attitude when people turned away from him.

Every day the lecture is dealing with a different subject. The subject of the day was abstinence from addiction. Jeevan Vigyan academies of various communes had gathered letters from their members, in which they had written down their vow of never again being addicted to what they had been in the past. All letters were sealed accurately and presented to HH Acharya Mahashraman. More and more letters were brought to the stage and laid down in front of HH. An impressing number of people had done so. 50.000 people had taken the vow of being free from addiction from the day they had written the vow letter until final breath! Well aware of the fact that the letters will be handed over to their spiritual leader.

HH Acharya Mahashraman expressed his high esteem for those who had taken such a decision and advised the audience to spread the information as encouragement to those still addicted. There were many folders and many parcels with letters of vows. They all were brought to a secluded place as a symbol that the addictions are no more in the world, precisely no longer masters of their slaves who now are delivered.

After Pravachan I met old friends, amazing in regard to the big crowd! Some new friends insisted on my visit to their homes, and at lunch time I went back to my wonderful hosts, the Dak family. There I took photos from the wonderful room they had given to me for the 11 days of my Amet stay. I really felt at home here.

Then some visits had to be made according to given promise. They all were so kind and all of us enjoyed each other’s presence. We had a great time together!

A highlight was the visit of the Bokarya family who was on their way back to Surat and had come to Amet to meet me. Shamtu Dak offered tea to them & was a wonderful host! Her sister-in-law from Surat also was there, and so the Bokaryas from Surat got acquainted with her. I felt very honored and touched by so wonderful signs of friendship and sympathy. With all of them I hope to meet again next year!
