The third aspect of the enigma of the universe is: “How old is the universe?”.
This question implies our query about the “life” of the universe, i.e., 2When did the universe begin?” and “When will it end?” or “Is there no beginning and no end?”. These questions have also played an important role in the development of cosmological theories.
Here again the scientific opinion is not unanimous and there are two contradictory views regarding the “life” of the universe, viz.:
- The universe has a beginning and an end.
- The universe is beginning less and endless
