The Navkar Mantra has the following nine sentences:

  1. Namo Arihantanam
  2. Namo Siddhanam
  3. Namo Ayariyanam
  4. Namo Uvazzayanam
  5. Namo Loai Savva Sahunam
  6. Aiso Panch Namokaro (These five- worships)
  7. Sav Pavappanasno (Destroyer of all sins)
  8. Manglanam cha Save sim (Among all beneficients)
  9. Padhamam Hawai Manglam (This is the best beneficient)

We have known two virtues of the number nine. There is yet another very useful quality of nine. It is the art of living. In arithmetic nine is known as the perfect number. It is unique as well. If we multiply nine by any digit, the sum of the resulting digits is always nine.

For example if we multiply 9 x 3 = 27, the sum of two and seven is equal to 9. In all the multiplications of nine, the sum of the resultant digits is nine. In the same way we should lead a serene, peaceful and balanced life in all the situations, whether there is sorrow or pleasure, loss or profit, honour or dishonour, favourable or unfavourable circumstances. This path will free us from the bondage of karmas and will purify the soul so that it may become enlightened.

Description Of Navkar Mantra…

The Navkar Mantra has nothing to do with an individual but has the highest regard for qualities of Soul. It has no distinction of caste, creed, community, country or continent. The aggregate of the qualities is praised and not any person A or B. Whosoever satisfies all the qualities of the Navkar Mantra is honoured and worshipped, whether he is Jain, Buddhist, Christian or Hindu.
