Samayasara - by Acharya Kundakunda: Renouncement (The Effect Of) Knowledge

savve bhāve jaṃhā paccakkhādi ya pare tti ṇādūṇa.

jaha ṇāṃa ko vi puriso paradavvamiṇaṃ ti jāṇiduṃ muyadi.
taha savve parabhāveṇādūṇa vimuñcade ṇāṇῑ..

(Jamhā) Since (savve bhāve pare tti ṇādūṇa paccakkhādῑ) one deliberately refrains from taking another's property because he knows that it is not his, (tamhā) therefore (paccakkhāṇaṃ) renouncement (ṇāṇaṃ ṇiyamā muṇedavvaṃ) is to be considered the result of knowledge.

(Jah ṇāṃa) Just as (ko vi puriso) a person (muyadi) renounces (iṇaṃ pardavvaṃ ti jāṇiduṃ) what he knows to be someone else's property, (taha) similarly (ṇāṇi) an enlightened person (savve parabhave ṇādūna vimuñcade) renounces all what he knows to be alien.
