British scientist Sir Edmund Whittaker is one of the eminent scientists giving prominence to the objective reality. He defines reality thus: "Any factor which is the same for all percipients will be said to belong to reality."[1] This definition clearly shows that in Whittaker's view "objectivity" is an essential property of reality.
Again, denying the subjective character of reality, he mentions: "Although the knowledge of reality, as thus interpreted, is based on the sense-perceptions and rational activity of individual minds, it is in itself independent of any particular individual mind, and the birth and death of individual minds are of no fundamental significance for it."[2]
Whittaker has also mentioned that by means of mathematically formulated laws it has become possible to treat reality in an entirely objective manner.[3]
