Preksha Meditation & Human Health: 4.3 Preksha Meditation - Yogic Practice Module

The Preksha Meditation- yogic practice module to be performed by experimental group of subjects was comprised of following components: -

a) Health rejuvenating yogic exercises - 15 minutes
b) Asanas - 30 minutes
c) Preksha Meditation
Kayotsarga - 10 minutes
Perception of Breathing - 25 minutes
Jyoti Kendra Preksha - 10 minutes

Subjects belonging to experimental group were asked to assemble daily at 6:30 AM. There was no any exemption to anyone from the practice session except in an emergency or an illness. Expert instructor conducted the daily practice session and in addition to these daily practices they were advised to follow under mentioned instruction: -

  1. Meal timings to be fixed and strictly followed.
  2. To consume only vegetarian diet full of green leafy vegetables and salads.
  3. To avoid consumption of prickles, spices and chilies.
  4. To stop completely the consumption of tobacco and alcohol along with tea and coffee. If at all tea coffee is to be taken, its frequency should be minimum.
  5. To avoid stress.
