The World Is As You See It
The attitude of a person is the main cause of his/her rise or decline. The main point to consider is on what aspect a person focuses his thoughts. According to Jain philosophy, Samyag darshan is the root of salvation.
Once upon a time a swan from Mana-sarovar lake went to another pond. The other ducks of that pond were amazed to see such a strange bird. They asked, "who are you with such red eyes, such red beaks, and such red feet?"
The swan replied - "I am Rajahans"
The cranes asked - "where have you come from?"
The swan replied - "I have come from Manasarovar"
The cranes had not even heard of such a lake. Being curious they asked - "what is there in that lake?"
The Rajahans replied- "In my Manasarovar, there are golden lotuses, the water is like nectar, and there are pearls, shells, gems, and many other beautiful things."
The cranes interrupted the swan and told him-Enough of your long speech. Just tell us one thing -"Are there any Snails in your Manasarovar?"
The Rajahans replied, "No there are no snails." On hearing this all the cranes replied in unison - Shame on your Manasarovar, where you don't even have the snails.
