14th Summit of seven developed nations, took place in Toronto at the beginning of 1990. The participating countries were USA, UK, West Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada and France. Head of the government of those countries took part in the summit. Various issues of international importance were discussed. Conservation of environment and Human Rights was one of the issues. Representatives of different organizations working in this field asserted that those seven developed nations are mainly responsible for this degradation. So long the developed countries would remain indifferent to these issues; threat to the existence of humanity would loom large.
Nuclear radiation has hazardous effect on human life. The growing infertility of soil is a direct result of human greed. Nature nourishes, assures and delights us. Even a moment’s company of nature fills man with delight. But as man is growing wise and wealthy so is he losing interest regarding leading life in nature’s way. Neither does he breaths fresh air nor does he take food made on natural fuels. Perhaps, for these reasons nature scowls now-a- days and human being has to face natural calamities. Natural vegetation basic requirements for human survival. I-human life is not possible without them. But it does not mean that we should make excessive use of them. If man has no capacity to feed the earth with water, then why should he waste water? What is the sense in sitting under the shower wasting buckets of water‘? If we do not learn to conserve water immediately, we would simply make the water crisis graver and graver.
Vegetation supports life. It gives oxygen and consumes carbon dioxide. Let makes us healthy. Vegetation significantly contributes in maintaining our general health. Man is so insensitive to such a useful gift of nature that he has been mercilessly felling trees and cleaning the forest cover. In such a situation, the earth is forced to stand starkly necked. She is crying what is the way out for us to respond to her cry.
Conservation is an essential element for sustaining life. If humankind practices a little sense of conservation while making consumption, he can prevent environment maladjustment. For this only blaming the developed nations is not going to help us. If every individual on the planet practices conservation and desist from any act that may or might harm environment, then only this growing threat to the mankind would be effectively countered.
