Published: 24.12.2013

On April 29, 1950, the first Anuvrat convention was held at the Constitution Club in Delhi where several journalists were present. They raised a number of questions regarding Anuvrat. The questions along with Acharya Tulsi's enlightened answers are listed below.

Q:

Is it necessary to be a Jain or Terapanthi to follow Anuvrat?

A:

Anuvrat is a moral code of conduct, being Jain or Terapanthi is not a requirement.

Q:

Does an Anuvrati need to accept you as his/her guru?

A:

No, he just needs to follow the code of conduct of Anuvrat; Anuvrat is non-sectarian, for people from all walks of life.

This dialogue helped people to remove the fear for security of their religion and inspired a great many people to participate in this movement.
