Acharya Shree Tulsi - A Legend Of Humanity: The Honor of Ganadhipati

Published: 25.01.2014

For one Acharya to transfer his position of leadership to another within his lifetime was a unique event in the Jain History. After the declaration, Yuvacharya Mahapragya was greeted by all as Acharya Mahapragya. He was given the absolute and uninterrupted trust and boundless attention of Acharya Shree Tulsi.

In accepting the post of Acharya, Mahapragya said "Gurudeva! I have respectfully followed you throughout my life. Today I am obeying you again. But on behalf of the entire Terapanth order I kindly request you to accept the title of Ganadhipati". Initially, Acharya Tulsi refused this distinction, but finally he agreed to accept the title due to the earnest wish of Acharya Mahapragya and the entire organization.

Thereafter, Acharya Tulsi was known and addressed as Ganadhipati Tulsi. This is how Acharya Mahapragya kept his Guru greater than himself and also proved his humbleness by giving honor to Ganadhipati Tulsi.
