Up until the 19th century, there was no tradition of celebrating the special occasions in the Terapanth organization. It was Jayacharya (Acharya Shree Jeetmal), who started the traditions of auspicious celebrations of several of the exclusive functions in this order. First of all, he began celebrating the Pattotsava (coronation day), the day on which the present Acharya has been enthroned. The second tradition he initiated was known as Charmotsava. It is celebrated in the memory of Acharya Bhikshu (the first Acharya and founder of Terapanth), on the day he took his last breath. The third is Maryada Mahotsava. On this very day Acharya Bhikshu formulated the rules, regulations and constitution for both the monks and nuns of Terapanth. These guidelines have been followed by all the sadhus and sadhvis without deviation through the present times. Maryada Mahotsava is celebrated to pay respect to Acharya Bhikshu and to resolve to follow Maryada Mahotsava from the core of the heart.
These three huge celebrations have become a fundamental part of Jain traditions in the Terapanth order. After Acharya Jayacharya, it was Acharya Tulsi who celebrated various centuries in Terapanth in order to induce enthusiasm in the entire organization.
- Seva Kendra Century
Jayacharya established a centre where old and disabled sadhvis can stay and spend rest of their life happily. And few sadhvis stay there to take care of them. Its Century was celebrated on the completion of hundred years in 1957, at Ladnun, Rajasthan.
- Terapanth Bicentenary Celebration
The booming, creative, fruitful and progressive 200 years of Terapanth was celebrated on July 8, 1960 at Kelwa (Rajasthan), the place where Terapanth came into existence. For this grand historical gala Acharya Shree Tulsi with his disciples arrived at Kelwa, all the way from Kolkata, traveling the long way of around two thousand KMs. on foot.
- Maryada Mahotsava Centenary Celebration
It was Jayacharya, who established the tradition of Maryada Mahotsava in Terapanth order in 1865. Acharya Shree Tulsi was honored with the opportunity to celebrate the 100 years of this event of constitution.
- Jayacharya Nirvan Centenary Celebration
Jayacharya was the 4th Acharya of the Terapanth order who laid the foundation of management in this order. He passed away in 1881 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Acharya Shree Tulsi celebrated his Nirvan Centenary in Delhi, August 26,1981.
