Eating is necessary to sustain life.
But restraint in food is as essential as eating itself.
Indulgence in food is not good.
Prohibition of junk food and discretion concerning the quantity of food - is food well eaten.
To eat less than capacity, to observe fast - these are signs of food well eaten.
One who has learnt to assess the attributes of good diet will progress faster along his spiritual practice.
