Anuvrat and Preksha Dhyan

Anuvrat is a movement to raise the level of national character. It is the support base for individual reform. If the character of every individual is of a high order, there would be no need to do anything special for character formation. The respect which Anuvrat has acquired as a non-sectarian program is something that any moral movement has rarely received. Ever since it has been linked with Preksha Dhyan, Anuvrat has grown in strength. Anuvrat is incomplete without Preksha Dhyan and Preksha Dhyan does not have a solid base without Anuvrat. The two are complementary to each other. Any person adopting the path of Anuvrat should necessarily practice Preksha Dhyan. Only by practicing meditation, the Anuvrat code of conduct can be easily assimilated. Similarly, for the one who takes to Preksha Dhyan, it is necessary to follow the path of Anuvrat, because without the moral foundation, any talk about spiritual attainments becomes a mockery.

There was a person who  wanted to adopt the path of Anuvrat. But there was one obstacle. He was in the habit of using drugs. It was not possible for him to adapt himself to the Anuvrat code of conduct without giving up that habit. He joined a Preksha Dhyan camp. He became free from the habit after a little initial difficulty. He experienced new freshness in his life.

Annual Spiritual Camp - "Let us Learn to Live"

JVBNA Annual Spiritual Camp "Let us Learn to Live" was conducted from June 13th to 15th at Arsh Vidya, PA. Approximately 110 participants attended the camp. Samanijis - Bhavit Pragyaji, Sanmati Pragyaji, Jayant Pragyaji and Sangh Pragyaji conducted interactive sessions with interesting topics for adults and kids. The topics covered practical tips for daily life based on wisdoms from Aagamik scriptures like Sthanang, Uttaradhyayan, Dasavaikakik sutras, and various other spiritual sources.

Adults got insight into the importance of right attitude, art of living in the present, spiritual way to conduct daily activities and were handed the key to happiness! Kids were fascinated by the sessions that suggested them the art of viewing, innovative ways to improve focus, explore what were their top 10 values and what they wanted to be. The campers fervently woke up early in the morning for Bhaktamar, yoga & meditation. They also learnt various meditation and relaxation techniques throughout the day. It was a fun-filled, completely unplugged, yet charged up weekend for adults and kids alike.

Gyanshala Annual Day

JVBNA Gyanshala Annual Day for Year 2013-14 was celebrated on June 15th following the Annual Spiritual Family camp. Samanijis - Bhavit Pragyaji, Sanmati Pragyaji, Jayant Pragyaji and Sangh Pragyaji blessed the occasion with their presence and spiritual guidance. Kids presented their projects showcasing their knowledge of Jainism. They received their report cards, certificates, and trophies. Parents and teachers shared their experiences and felt privileged for this enlightening and enriching opportunity for their kids. Children sold their annual projects to their parents and raised funds for Vimal Vidya Vihar, a JVB run institution for under privileged children in Ladnun.

It has been a decade since the inception of JVBNA Gyanshala and this year around 40 students attended and benefited from Gyanshala. What a journey it has been - with each year having its own triumphs and struggles and yet unique in many ways. The spiritual journey at Gyanshala goes beyond imparting knowledge. Our little galaxy of intellectuals did a full package of educational, spiritual, and cultural activities. List of achievements and accolades is endless this year.
